Microsoft Outlook 2000

Follow this guide to configure your Outlook 2000 (Office 2000) software for Smart Solutions E-Mail.

Follow the procedure below to setup Outlook 2000 for use with your Smart Solutions email account. The only information you need to know before starting the setup process, is your email address, and your password, which you should have received when you requested your account.

  1. Start Outlook how you normally do. For example, by clicking on the icon on the desktop, in the Start Menu, or from the icons along the bottom of your screen.

  2. Choose "Accounts" from the Tools menu. If you don't see this option, click the Chevron at the bottom of the menu, or look for a "Services" option.

  3. Click the "Add" button on the right, and select "Mail" from the list that appears.

  4. Type in your first and last name. Click Next.

  5. Enter your email address, which you should have, at this point.

  6. Choose "POP3" if asked for a server type. Your "Incoming Mail" server will be "". For example, if your website was, you would enter "".

  7. Enter the same value for your Outgoing Mail server. Click Next.

  8. Your "Account Name" is simply your email address. Your password should have been preassigned. If you have not changed it at this point, and would like to, we have produced a guide that will help you through the process.

Enter your password, and click "Next"

  9. If Outlook asks you how you will establish your internet connection, choose the last option, and click Next. Then, click Finish.

  10. Click the "Properties" button, now. Choose the "Servers" tab. Click here for a screenshot.

  11. Check the "My server requires authentication" box towards the bottom.

  12. Click "OK", then "Close" Your new email account setup is finished, and you can now start sending and receiving email.
